# Get notified in the mobile app when an agent needs you

> End user: understand which push notifications the Prisme.ai mobile app sends, what happens when you tap one, and who can read their content.

The Prisme.ai mobile app can notify you when an agent finishes replying or waits for your approval, so you can leave the app during a long task and come back at the right moment.

## Before you begin

* **Who:** any user of the Prisme.ai mobile app. No role is required.
* **Where:** the Prisme.ai app on iPhone, iPad, or Android.
* **Requires:** notifications allowed for the app on your phone, and an instance where your administrator has [turned on push notifications](https://docs.prisme.ai/self-hosting/configuration/push-notifications.md).
* **Impact:** notifications stop for this phone when you sign out of the app.

## What you are notified about

You are only notified about messages you sent from the mobile app. A message sent from the web interface does not notify your phone, even when the app is installed.

| Situation | What you see |
| - | - |
| The agent finished its reply | The agent name and the start of its reply. |
| The agent waits for your approval to use a tool | The agent name and a generic sentence written by the app in your phone's language. The tool and its arguments are never included. |

You receive no notification when a reply fails or when you stop it.

You also receive no notification for the conversation currently on your screen, because you can already see the reply. Notifications for your other conversations still appear.

## Open a notification

Tap the notification. The app opens the conversation, closing any sheet or dialog that was open. If the agent is waiting for an approval, the approval card is displayed in the conversation so you can approve or refuse.

## Who can read your notifications

Notifications are end-to-end encrypted between your Prisme.ai instance and your phone:

* Your instance encrypts each notification with a key that your phone created.
* The notification then goes through the Prisme.ai push gateway, and through Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM), which only carry encrypted data. None of them can read the agent name, the conversation, or the text.
* Your phone decrypts the notification and displays it.

## Troubleshooting

### You do not receive any notification

1. Check that notifications are allowed for the Prisme.ai app in your phone settings.
2. Check that you sent the message from the mobile app, not from the web interface.
3. Sign out of the app and sign in again to register your phone again.
4. If nothing changes, ask your administrator whether push notifications are configured on your instance.
